A General Overview of Kardia's After-School & Saturday Program

After-School STEAM Snack & Mentorship/Community Time

Students engage in STEAM inspired snacks* while catching up with their mentors and friends about their day/week. 

*Please fill out and update your student's Food Allergies in the appropriate section of his registration paperwork. 


1 Hour

Guided STEAM activity

Students receive a STEAM activity that applies the academic curriculum and skills they're learning at school (i.e. Building a rollercoaster out of popsicle sticks to solidify lessons on kinetic energy, etc).

Brain Pause & Recap

Students reteach what they just learned to their mentors, which solidifies their understanding of the activity and boosts their confidence in the material. 


Homework Assistance 

Students get to work on their assigned school homework with their mentor (tutor) and receive guided assistance.

Reflection Journal Time

Before the end of the day, both students and mentors reflect on what they learned that day, about STEAM, their community (friends/mentors), and most importantly, themselves.
